Our client are recruiting for an experienced Motor Fleet Underwriter to join their team based in Gloucestershire.





The Company

The Role



You will be responsible for underwriting both new and existing Motor Fleet insurance risks.  The role involves developing and maintaining profitable commercial fleet business through technical assessment of individual risk involving the negotiation and processing of suitable terms for new business, change in risk, claims and renewals.  You will be a referral point for less experienced staff to help deal with more technical risks and will support Senior Fleet Underwriters by monitoring the market and providing feedback as well as undertaking projects as and when required.





The Benefits



Basic salary of between £25,000 - £31,000 dependant on experience.





The Person



For your application to be considered, you will have a strong background in underwriting Motor Fleet risks.  You will have excellent technical knowledge of Motor and Motor Fleet insurance risks and have achieved or be working towards your ACII qualification.

A market leading Insurer are looking to appoint an experienced Risk Control Surveyor to offer a bespoke survey service that adds value and strengthens the customer relationship; contributing to business retention and company profitability.


The Role

You will be required to:
•	Support and help develop Commercial Business and Underwriting Strategy Plans by undertaking risk control and valuation surveys; producing survey and risk management reports and providing risk management and valuation advice to customers
•	Discuss findings in relation to: building valuation, fire, security, cash, business interruption, health and safety
•	Take part in presentations to customers, brokers and colleagues
•	Represent the company on non survey related site visits to create and maintain good relationships with customers and brokers
•	Assist in training
•	Maintain constructive relationships with relevant external bodies, including brokers, to represent the best interests of the company
•	Provide health and safety advice

This is a home based role that will cover the whole Central Region of the UK.  Therefore you must be willing to travel around the designated Midlands area.

The Person

For your application to be considered, you must have a proven track record of success and achievement in relevant Risk Control Surveying roles gained within an insurance company, demonstrating Casualty/Liability exposure.  Highly effective verbal and written communication is needed as effective report writing is important as is an engaging, questioning and adaptable interpersonal style.

Minimum Dip CII is essential and preferably ACII or firm commitment to achieve this within an agreed period.  NEBOSH certificate would be preferred, although training will be provided for the right candidate.  Due to the amount of travel needed for this role, you must hold a valid driving licence
