A client who are a fee-based advisory practice are looking for an experienced Investment bias Financial Planner to become the leading figure of a new investment solutions spin-off firm.  Operating as an IFA you will inherit a client bank of circa 3500 individuals and £25k of trail income from day one.

Your responsibility will be to promote and develop the clients onto the platform by providing technical investment advice to a range of private clients.  Support and platforms are in place with a selection of the best investment providers being selected on a multi-tied basis, effectively services which are geared towards HNW investments.

The candidate will need to be an experienced IFA or Investment Planner who is Dip PFS qualified or not far from being so.  You will be hungry for success and be able to offer investment advice to clients comfortable with a proven background in the area.

Longer term potential equity is available however a package is negotiable for the individual, either on a PAYE or self-employed basis dependent on the individual.  The company is a spin-off from a well established IFA who have an excellent reputation in the market place.

Primary Objectives:
 
- To inform IFAs about the benefits of using the business
- To maintain effective business relationships with our existing client base which consists exclusively of IFAs. 
- To develop an extensive client base

The main purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to generate profitable sales of the service to IFA&#39;s.

You will be required to:
 
- Pro-actively pursue new prospects for consolidated investment service and convert these to actual new business.
- Contribute to the achievement of sales targets by developing relationships with IFAs and encouraging new business.
- Maintain effective business relationships with our existing client base of IFAs.
- Ensure repeat business by maintaining regular contact with existing clients.
- Follow up on mail shots and marketing activity to ensure that the information disseminated, has the desired impact and results I.e new IFA users.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the adaptation of the sales strategy in response to changing market conditions. 

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

- WRAP platform BDM experience
- A proven ability to win new business and close sales and to convert sales leads to new business.
- Professional presentation and communication skills.
- FPC or CFP qualification
- A reputation for establishing and maintaining strong client relationships either as IFA or with an IFA servicing sales force.

The principle objectives of the Director are to ensure the following:

- Deliver the yearly financial gross sales performance through effective leadership and management of the regional team.
- Deliver the yearly financial net profit performance of the region through effective sales management of the regional team, debt management and cost control
- Work effectively and closely with the Managing Director and other Directors in delivering the vision for the Financial Planning business
- Work with the Sales Director on the implementation of the client proposition and sales process, across all areas of activity.

The reporting line will be to the Managing Director of Financial Planning and you will be also be responsible for:

- Overall regional leadership of the Financial Planning business
- Member of the FP Operational Board attending meetings at intervals to be agreed
- Implement FP group policies, initiatives and procedures
- Identify business development opportunities and aid implementation
- Monthly meetings with Managing Director on regional performance
- Deliver monthly report of regional management information as agreed at Operations Board. 
- Management of debtors and cost control in line with national objectives.
- Sales management of staff on an ongoing basis.  Present clear performance expectations of our advisers.
- Integration with other Discipline Directors and development of cross referrals throughout the organisation.  
- Responsibility to make sure any referral, telemarketing campaigns etc are fully maintained and updated on our systems. 
- Responsibility for making sure the central database is updated with marketing initiatives. 
- Implement nationally agreed marketing campaigns within each respective region.
- Senior management team to share marketing and sales opportunities with other members.  
- Responsibility to manage adviser appraisals with the office sales managers  
- Identify any IFA training needs or gaps in knowledge.
- Recruitment of FP staff in region
- Responsibility of implementation of all FP Propositions in region
- Work closely with national and regional admin managers to make sure any operational improvements are implemented in each respective region
